An outbreak of mumps has developed in King County, mainly in the Auburn area, but the outbreak can easily spread to other schools and areas in King County. Get informed about how to prevent mumps, what the symptoms are, and what state vaccine requirements and exemptions are for schools and students.
As we search for a new principal for a unified Evergreen High School, we invite students, families, and the community to identify and prioritize characteristics desired in a principal. Take the survey here by January 3, 2017.
As you know, Evergreen will be unified as one school starting next fall. Design teams are in the process of planning small learning structures to make sure that students continue to experience strong relationships at school. As part of the unification process, the school board is holding public hearings on the closure of the existing small schools on the Evergreen campus on December 1.
Students are excited to apply their skills, knowledge, and experience to "create, design, and innovate" solutions for the 21st century
Technology, Engineering & Communications High School is committed to a rigorous and relevant education for all students in a small school environment focusing on relationships, college readiness, collaboration, and career pathways for engineering, communication, and technology.
Hello TEC students and families,
Welcome to a new school year! I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing summer and were able to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. This is my second year as the Principal at TEC and I am so honored to be a part of this learning community. The students and staff at TEC are amazing! One of my goals for this year is to get to know the families of my students. I know that you, the family, are the most important stakeholder in your students learning, therefore I need you to be part of the TEC family. I have an open door policy, so please stop by and see me. I am planning to have “Coffee with the Principal” days, intentional curriculum nights, as well as our Open House and Student Led Conferences throughout the year, so I hope to meet each and every one of you.
I need you to know that at TEC we are doing amazing things! We believe that all students can be successful and not only graduate, but graduate college-ready. TEC had the highest graduation rates in the district, after Aviation, for the Class of 2015. Many of our graduating seniors were accepted into major universities, community colleges and the armed forces. AT TEC we promise to know each student by name strength and need. As a small school students are well-known by the staff and their individual learning styles are recognized. Our teachers work hard and are committed to providing a rigorous learning environment for all students. The staff work hard for students to be successful and students work hard to be successful. I say this because it’s true. Academic achievement is our priority at TEC.
Please see the T.E.C. website for forms and all you need to know for school start up this year, including a school supply list. If you have questions please do not hesitate to call the TEC office at 206-631-6300. Our staff will be happy to assist you to get your child situated for a smooth start to the year. Please look for future communications from me via letters, emails, phone calls or meetings. Again, I have an open door policy and I can be reached at the number below. The staff looks forward to building strong partnerships with TEC families and community members to ensure your child reaches his or her highest potential.

What does the word love mean? The world's greatest poets, authors, musicians, teachers, and philosophers have struggled with that question for centuries. For Valentine's Day, we asked the smartest and most thoughtful people we know-- our students.
Making a decision about weather-related school closures is always difficult, because so many different situations have to be considered. We do our very best to balance the many interests at stake, but we recognize that no matter what decision we make, it will not please everyone.
Highline voters approved the sale of $299 million in school construction bonds last November, and today the first set of bonds was sold. The $236.8 million proceeds will fund a majority of the school construction and improvement projects in the bond package.
