Present
The Arts & Academic Academy is building the art program to provide students with a rigorous, deep and rich art education. Our pathways are defined so students will have an opportunity to focus on the area they are passionate about. We are also building relationships with our community and will offer internships and workshops by visiting artists.
History
Nine years ago (2003) staff, students and community members began developing a theme-based school that concentrated on integrating the arts into a rigorous core curriculum developed to prepare all students for college, career and citizenship. This gradual shift from a comprehensive high school to an autonomous small school began with the freshman class of 2008 and rolled up one grade level each year. Five years ago (2007), all students were part of a small school and leadership was restructured to reflect three small schools operating on one shared campus.
