Office of Accountability
The
Office of Accountability serves schools and the district by providing timely and accurate data and support for the purpose of improving student achievement. In addition to managing the district testing program, metrics, and program evaluation, the Office of Accountability has launched a major accountability initiative to improve school improvement planning. Our focus is on improving implementation, increasing collaboration and aligning with our board adopted Systemwide Measures of Success
(SWMS).
Our view of accountability…
Accountability is as much about being responsible to ourselves and our Highline Public Schools community as it is about external accountability. It is about learning and continuous improvement as much as it is about test scores. To us, accountability is about knowing our data, owning our results, and taking action. By knowing our data, we better know our students and ourselves. By owning our results, we are empowered to improve them. And by taking action, we will make a difference for all Highline students.
A Data Warehouse has been developed for school and district use. The initiative, led by the Department of Technology Services and the Office of Accountability, in partnership with VersiFit Technology, provides school and district level users greatly expanded and user friendly access to data. The data warehouse merges records from our student information, assessment, and other administrative systems to support greater analysis and data-driven decision making. Principals have access to custom dashboards and reports, allowing school leaders improved access to data and easy analysis of key information. Teachers are gaining access through ongoing trainings at school sites. The warehouse includes a reporting suite that will allows the district to produce an array of reports that provides important feedback on our practices and progress.
