Mission Statement
The mission of the Highline Library Media Program is to educate every student and expect excellence by collaborating with students and staff to provide them with the resources and technology needed to succeed, and by promoting a love of reading and lifelong learning.
Visiting the Library
Students may visit the library any time before school, after school, and during their lunch period without a pass. During class time, students must have a signed pass from their teacher to come to the library. Subject teachers should designate what time the student has left the class and may also list a time to return to class.
Checking Out Books
Students may borrow up to four items (e.g. four books, or three books and one magazine) at a time. We do not charge fines for overdue books;* however, if a student has an overdue item, he or she may not check out any more books until the items are returned or paid for. Items that are returned damagaed will incur fines. Students may not check out books until all fines are paid. Report cards will be held if a student has overdue books or outstanding fines.
