Great job yesterday to all Track Athletes! Congratulations go out to K’Lea Ford for throwing over 69 feet in the 7th grade Turbo Toss. Cece Tafia also came home winning 1st in the Shot Put throwing at 32 feet 1and ½ inches and Kevin Ford jumped over 28 feet winning the Triple Jump. In the running events, stand out competitors were once again Deon Williams in the 100meters and Dylan McDonald in the 200 meters. While Chinooks 8th grade boys 4x100 relay team ran their race in 51 seconds! Way to go Marquise, Christian, Randy and Deon. Congratulations to everyone, you did great! Our next track meet is next Wednesday against Sylvester at Highline Memorial Stadium. Due to Student Led conferences today, track practice is cancelled.
It’s that time of the year where we start looking for new ASB Officers. If you are interested in becoming Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President or President, come get an application from me or Ms. Johanson. This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard at Chinook, make decisions, plan events and dances. If you think you have what it takes to be a leader, then this is for you!
8th graders, we only have two weeks before you have to have your Cruise money in. The entire cost of the cruise is only 15.00. You need to make sure you have all your paperwork filled out and turned in to the main office with your payment…The earlier we get your payment the sooner we can finalize the plans for your trip!
A lot of you have been asking me when the 8th grade class picture will be taken. You are scheduled for your picture, Friday, June 1st at 8:30 in the Gym..Please do not plan on being absent that day, we want all 8th graders in the picture.. If you would like to buy your picture, the cost will be 15.00 and that’s a great deal. You will get a flyer this week along with your Moving Up Ceremony invitation.
We are also advertising for an 8th grader to design our end of the year Signing Board. If you have artistic talent and would love to have your art on the wall forever, this could be for you. Please see Ms.Johanson for details..
Talent show practice will be Monday..Everyone attends…You must have your music and be completely prepared…See Ms.Johanson or Ms.Victoria if you have any questions…
