Junior year program is built around the Marine Tech program at PSSC; WELS students who choose to continue on the WELS pathway will earn credits in Marine Biology as an interdisciplinary block. Marine Science Technology is taught at the PSSC Marine Technology Lab in Seahurst Park. This unique location allows the students to conduct an annual beach survey, lower plankton nets from our 14-foot skiffs, manage the state-licensed salmon hatchery, and study marine plants and animals. At the end of the school year, students will complete a two-day cold water survival class that will earn them U.S. Coast Guard certification.
The other half of the day the WELS junior year cohort will have classes in US history, Geometry, Psychology, and Leadership coursework.
