The Library staff have several ways that you can help us provide for students in these tough economic times. If you need more information or have other ideas that could help, please contact Ms. Glasgow via email or at 206-631-6233.
Donorschoose.org is a grassroots charitable organization that is solely Internet based. To date the library has had eleven projects funded through Donorschoose.org as of 2/28/13. My latest project, "Where have all the great books gone?" was posted at the end of March, 2013 and we should are hoping to be fully funded before the end of the school year. In order to donate to any donorschoose.org project, you will need to set up a username and password, although you can search for projects without signing in. This is a 401c3 charity so all contributions are tax deductible.
Recycling for a Greener World
Through a partnership with FundingFactory.com we are currently accepting all LaserJet and inkjet printer cartridges, as well as old cell phones and small electronics (GPS, MP3, Gameboys, laptops). Drop them off at the library or give us a call if you would like someone to pick them up. This will keep these items out of the landfill and earn the library a small amount per item (usually $1-$5 per item). Call if you need a pickup -- We are happy to come get quantities! (206-631-6233)
We have selected with great care books that the students would like, that meet the district's selection policy, but that we can't afford. If you choose to donate in such a manner and provide your name, we will make sure that all books received have a bookplate honoring your donation. If you are having trouble making the link work, just go to Amazon.com and search for Evergreen Campus Library Seattle.
At this point in time the most pressing need is 81/2" x 11" paper for the printer. If you have any printer paper to donate, please let us know with an email or call and I will pick up. I estimate that we will need at least 15 reams of paper more than I have on hand to finish out the year and the individual schools here at Evergreen Campus do not have any to spare for the Library at this time.
Supplies we can always use; please feel free to donate!
