Presidential Inauguration Festival Performance
January 18-21, 2013
Our band has been invited to participate in the 2013 Presidential Inauguration
Music Festival in Washington D.C. and attend the Presidential Inauguration
Ceremony.
This is a once in a
lifetime opportunity for our students!
Hundreds of high
school bands from across the U.S. were invited to audition. Our Wind
Ensemble is one of only four schools in the country invited to participate with
no audition required, by recommendation of a national adjudicator.
The 37 students in our
Wind Ensemble reflect the ethnic and cultural diversity of our community; 78
percent of Global Connections students live in poverty.
Our band program must raise $60,000. You can help:

Our students will have
the opportunity to:
Perform at the Inauguration Festival.
Perform at an additional venue hosting Inauguration festivities
Witness the Oath of Office and the Presidential Address at the National Mall.
Tour the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Arlington National Cemetery, MLK Memorial, and U.S. government buildings.
Visit several Smithsonian Museums.
Attend a performance at the Kennedy Center.
Attend the Inauguration Social Celebration.
Observe, perform, and exchange with music groups from across the country.
