What we do...

The Highly Capable program, also known as Challenge, is designed for students entering grades 2-6 who are academically advanced or demonstrate high intellectual capability. Successful candidates are normally independent learners who thrive on progressively challenging opportunities to learn and utilize advanced problem-solving, in-depth study, and presentation of curriculum matched to their demonstrated skills and capabilities.

The Challenge classroom moves through curriculum at a faster pace and studies topics in more depth. Within units, the students will be called upon to progressively utilize higher level thinking skills such as synthesis, analysis, creativity, inference, evaluation, interpretation, and translation. Within a given classroom or setting, students may demonstrate a varied level of advancement relative to reading, math and written language.
