Volunteer Information
Our schools rely on and are very thankful for those who volunteer their time and energy helping our children learn and play in a safe environment. Without volunteers our teachers and support staff would not be able to perform their school functions as well as they do. Thank you very much for considering to give of your valuable time and knowledge to help our children grow and learn. We do appreciate you.
To become a volunteer with the Highline School District, you need to sign up with the volunteer coordinator or office manager in the school for which you would like to volunteer. Two forms must be filled out, signed, and verified by the volunteer coordinator or the office manager. A picture ID showing your date of birth and correct spelling of your name must be presented to the coordinator or office manager when you turn in your forms. A background check will be performed through the Washington State Patrol on the information that you turn into the school office.
The clearance takes only a few days to complete unless a problem shows up during the clearance check. Once you are cleared, you will be allowed to work with our children. A verification form will be sent out to the school offices by the Human Resources Department showing your clearance and expiration date. After the verification slip has expired and you want to continue volunteering, you must fill out the two forms again and receive a new clearance date.
You can receive these forms by clicking on the links below. Please print them out, fill them out completely, sign and date the form and take them into the school office to be verified by the coordinator or the office manager.
*Applies only to the previous year at the same school.
If you have any questions you can contact the school in which you are volunteering, or Highline School District Human Resources Department Betty Glanz is the district coordinator for volunteers.
Thank you again for volunteering for our schools.
