PTA Fundraiser
Your Mount View fundraiser is due now.  This event helps fund future trips to the zoo, aquarium, theater, salmon hatchery and many other wonderful educational activities.
 
Get Ready for School - Kinder Math and Science Night
Thursday, May 9, 6:15 – 7:30 come and learn about math and science activities for the summer.  Free event open to all children who will turn 5 on or before August 31, 2008 and their families.          
 
Dad, Donuts and Discovery
Join us Thursday, May 16, 8:00-8:45 a.m. All dads/caregivers/special persons invited to this free event in the library.

Special Coffee Hour

Music Concert
Thursday, May 23, 6:30 until completion, come and enjoy a performance by our second and fifth grades from Mr. Wickham and Mr. Adsley’s music class.

Breakfast and a Book
Thursday, May 30, 8:15 – 8:45, in the Multipurpose Room, come and get a free book for students who come to school with a parent/adult.  Be the first to choose! Other students will receive their book during the school day. 
 
Save the Date

Handicapped Parking Spaces
We ask that specially designated handicapped parking spaces only be used by cars with a visible handicapped identification sticker.  All violators will be ticketed and towed.
 
2013/2014 In-district Transfers
Requests for in-district transfers for the year 2013/2014 school year will be accepted between January 2nd and April 15th.  They will be approved or denied by the last day of school in June. Requests received from April 16th to the last day of school will be put on a waiting list and will be approved or denied by one week prior to the start of school.  Requests received after the last day of school in June will be denied unless there are extenuating circumstances. http://highlineschools.org/FamilyEngagement/Pages/TransferRequests.aspx

Young Author’s Night
Thursday, April 25th 6:00 – 7:00pm, join us for a Writer’s Workshop were students will share their writing with their families.  We will also have a storyteller too!
 
Book Fair
April 29th - May 3rd Mount View Book Fair.  The library is offering a lot of great deals, buy two books get one free.

New District Procedures
Attention all visitors to Mount View Elementary.  You may have noticed the school has a new visitor procedure when visiting the school.  Every visitor will now check-in at the school office, where they will be required to sign-in, sign out, and take a visitor badge to wear while in the building.  Please make sure to use the front doors on the east side when entering the building.
 
NO SCHOOL FOR ALL STUDENTS
Friday, March 8th, there will be no school for Elementary students grades Kindergarten through sixth.
 
Remember to Spring ahead!
Sunday, March 10th, please remember to advance your clocks one hour to adjust for Daylight Savings Time.
 
Classified Employees Appreciation Week
March 11th through 15th is Classified Week.  Thank you to our dedicated classified staff here at Mount View, which includes all playground staff, ELL tutors, paras, custodians, kitchen staff and crossing guards.

Kindergarten Night
Thursday, March 21st, 6:15-7:30, is Kindergarten Night.  If you have a child who is five years old or will be turning five by August 31st, come and meet our teachers, see the classrooms, take a short tour of the school and take this opportunity to enroll you student for next year’s Kindergarten class of 2013-2014.  Light snack will be provided

Mount View Family Tradition Night
Thursday, March 28th, 6:00-7:30, join us in the Multi-purpose Room for a Mount View tradition, sponsored by our school’s PTA.  Bring a main dish or a dessert to share, beverage is provided.  Everyone is invited to this free event.
 
Seola Gardens-Tutoring and Resource Center
After school resource available: the Seola Gardens Site is located at 11215 5th Avenue, SW. Hours are Monday – Thursday, 3:00-4:00 for grades 7-12, and 4:00-6:00 for grades K-6.  Contact Leah Montange at (206) 466-5807 or leahm@nhwas.org
