On Thursday, January 26th, we held our 17th Arts Night Extravaganza! Arts Night was a joyous night that highlighted AAA students’ artistic achievements – from dance to watercolor painting and everything in between. Friends and families were welcomed by beautiful displays of art from our drawing and painting, ceramics, and photography students. The show itself was jam-packed with song, music, dance, and drama! Fusion Dance Crew opened the show with a hip hop number that was followed by an array of dance styles from our dance classes. Our drama class gave an outstanding performance of brief actos from El Teatro Campesino that brought light to the conditions that Mexican-American/Chicano farm workers face. We ended the first half of the show with a beautiful set from the P.I. Legion showcasing our Polynesian students and their cultures. The second half of Arts Night was filled with song and music performances by the choir, vocal ensemble, guitar, and band classes. Our students worked extremely hard all semester and owned the stage! Thank you to everyone who helped make this show possible, especially our art teachers and club advisors, Matt Duhrkoop, Erin Hocevar-Ortiz, Amanda Schmidt, David Thomas, and Freda Crichton!
