Dear Families and Friends of Southern Heights,

Southern Heights has a long history of serving students in the Boulevard Park community. Our school places academic success of all students as the top priority. The teachers work together to make education relevant, fun and exciting.

Everyday students have the opportunity to increase their math and reading skills through small group work offered before school and after school.

Some of the enrichment activities offered at Southern Heights are: Steel Drum band, After School Tech Start where students learn computer programs, work with robotics and rockets, chorus.

We believe that parents and teachers are partners in education. Our after school Latino Homework Club is hosted by parents and teachers four afternoons a week. Once a month parents and teachers meet for discussions on topics such as homework, helping their students with reading, summer learning and other topics of interest to parents.

Our beloved PTSA supports student learning and enrichment through their volunteerism and their fundraisers.

Southern Heights is proud of its Positive Behavior Support System. Our Guidelines for Success are:
  • Show Effort and Respect
  • Solve Problems
  • Make Good Choices

Our students know and follow Southern Heights’ Guidelines for Success. The program is 100% successful as measured by appropriate conduct and positive behaviors exhibited by our students throughout the school day.

Students are acknowledged for the positive behaviors they display. Everyday students can earn recognition WISH tickets which qualify them to be included in the monthly Lunch with the Principal!

Parents are welcome at anytime to tour Southern Heights and see educational success in action.

Sincerely,

Deborah Holcomb
