We believe all students will graduate with the problem solving and critical thinking skills necessary to live and work responsibly in a digital world.  To help students and families navigate this work responsibly, we have a number of board policies:

We care about internet safety for all students. There are many resources available for students, families and the community. Review the internet safety resources provided by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.  

We use Common Sense Media curriculum in the classroom to teach internet safety. These materials are free, but registration is required to download resources. Common Sense Media empowers students to think critically, behave safely and participate responsibly in our digital world. The cross-curricular approach covers:

• Media Balance & Well-Being
• Privacy & Security
• Digital Footprint & Identity
• Relationships & Communication
• Cyberbullying & Digital Drama
• News & Media Literacy 

Families are welcome to use these materials at home with their children. Teachers, students and parents may browse the entire list of lessons online.

We value donations, but also recognize maintaining, upgrading and disposing outdated technology is expensive. New technology donations by parent organizations or other groups must meet current standards for technology and be approved and/or purchased by technology services. If this process is not followed, the donation could fail to be accepted.

Donations valued up to $10,000 may be accepted by the superintendent or designee upon the recommendation of technology services staff. Donations valued at more than $10,000 must be approved by the school board. 

Review the Donation Quick Reference Guide and review Board Policy 6114 - Gifts and Donations to the School District or Individual School and use Donation, Gift, Trust Agreement form to get advance approval for any donation over $2,500.
