We are beginning the process to develop our budget for the 2025-26 school year. Thanks to steady enrollment and the $8 million in budget reductions this school year, we do not anticipate the need for additional reductions in the 2025-26 budget.
Each year, families are required to verify student emergency information and submit updated health information. This helps us keep students safe while at school and are essential for schools to notify you quickly.

Our Highline Dual Language program is about more than language learning. It celebrates the rich cultures students bring to the classroom and helps them excel in school. Multicultural skills enable students to live, work, and communicate across cultures. For many family members, the program is a way for their children to stay connected to their heritage. For others, the program opens doors to different cultures and broadens their children’s own worldview and opportunities. Highline’s Dual Language program is innovative, inclusive and free.

Our students represent many diverse and culturally-rich backgrounds. Our diversity is an asset. Our students learn from one another and graduate prepared to live and work in an increasingly multicultural world.
The single most important driver of student achievement is an excellent teacher in the classroom. Highline is in the top 12 out of 295 Washington districts in the number of National Board Certified Teachers.
Highline has 18 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, and 4 comprehensive high schools serving neighborhoods in Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac and White Center. Families may also want to explore our 7 choice schools or multiple alternative education options.
Highline's graduation rate has been on a steady rise for the past decade. The on-time graduation rate for the Class of 2023 was 84.8%. That's an increase of 22.5 point rise since 2013.
