  • Vision
Hilltop is a diverse community where we set high expectations, support learning, and celebrate academic and personal growth.

In order to support our vision, at Hilltop we:
    • Set high expectations by holding all students accountable for their learning.
    • Support learning by using data from a variety of assessment tools to drive instruction through collaborative planning.
    • Acknowledge and celebrate student effort and achievement in academic and social areas.

  • Dear Hilltop Families,Kathy Emerick

Another fantastic school year is about to begin at Hilltop Elementary this fall 2017. As we continue to see our students rise in their academic and personal growth skills, we continue to refine our instructional practices and school wide systems to support student success!

We have embraced a common vision for our school and community in which we are working together to embody a school that is culturally responsive, shows mutual respect, and makes a positive impact. Our school is a place where everyone feels confident, comfortable, safe and welcome. We celebrate each person’s individuality while being united by a common mission.

A school in which our students demonstrate empathy, self-regulation, independent problem solving and support each other to do their best. Students feel valued and inspired by adults, each other and their personal goals to put forth the effort required to improve.

Identifying and incorporating the world around us, staff will have tools and strategies to provide consistent support for our student’s social-emotional growth. Connections to outside agencies and resources will be integrated into school wide systems and programs to build exciting and differentiated lessons, pushing students to use their higher level thinking skills in all academic environments. Knowing that we are working together, families will be active partners with staff and sustain meaningful relationships with their children to positively support student social-emotional growth.
As a community we will show courage to address challenges we face. We celebrate individual and community achievements. As a result, students will become responsible citizens who contribute to improve the community using their identified strengths and passions.
I am thrilled to continue to work at Hilltop Elementary where together we are working to have positive impact on the world through the education of our children. I look forward to partnering with our community to continue this important work.

    Kathy Emerick

    Proud Principal
