Welcome to Bow Lake Elementary School.

Bow Lake Elementary is located in SeaTac and is part of Highline Public Schools. We are a diverse school with approximately 730 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. We house a regional elementary Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program, have a Primary Integrated Learning Center (ILC), and around one third of our students are English language learners.

Bow Lake is known for our strong focus on academics and student success particularly in the early grades, our school-community celebrations, and our DHH program, which draws from Highline and the surrounding districts. We maintain close partnerships with our Parent-Teacher Organization the Wildcat PAC, and the City of SeaTac, which runs our before and after-school programming. Our vital, community-based partnerships include The Doubletree Seattle Airport Hotel, the City of SeaTac, the SeaTac Rotary, Somali Youth and Family Club, Techbridge, and Washington Youth Soccer.

The good work being done at Bow Lake has had a huge impact on our student achievement. Our Highline Benchmark Assessment results continue to climb. In kindergarten and first grade, around 90% of our students are proficient in mathematics and in second and sixth grades, students exceeded 70% proficiency in reading. We have also had success with our English language learners. This year, based on our English Language Proficiency Assessment for the 21st Century results, we continue to exit large numbers of students from ELL services.

Our school mission is “Learning Together, Working Together, and Growing Together on the Pathway to Success!” As our mission statement says, the Bow Lake staff is committed to working with families, the community, and one another to provide an excellent education to our students. We tailor our instruction to fit the needs of each child and provide help and support to students when necessary while at the same time challenging students to deeper understanding and higher achievement.

We invite our families and community to join with us in providing the best education possible for our students. If you would like to help volunteer in the school or on field trips, please stop by our office and complete a volunteer form. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office by phone at 206.631-3500. You may also reach me via email at Douglas.Neufeld@highlineschools.org.
