Mount Rainier High School promotes the growth of every student and seeks to create principled, knowledgeable, and inquisitive graduates empowered to lead productive and caring lives in a global society.
Dear Mount Rainier Families,
Kyle Linman has been appointed as Mount Rainier principal, starting July 1. Kyle is currently principal at Sylvester Middle School, where he previously served ten years in the roles of dean and assistant principal. Before coming to Highline, Kyle taught eight years at the high school level in the Seattle area and in Los Angeles Unified School District.
Kyle earned his bachelor’s degree at Western Baptist (now Corbin University) in Salem, Oregon and his master’s in education administration from Central Washington University.
Kyle is an outstanding leader deeply committed to the staff and students with whom he works. He will work closely with MRHS staff to ensure a smooth transition next fall.
We are launching an online conversation to get your input on how to support the social and emotional well-being of students. Your ideas will be used as we renew our strategic plan, which will guide our work in schools for the next five years.
Four years, 11 students, countless challenges and one big, bold goal are at the center of a new documentary set in Highline Public Schools. "Eleven Paths" follows 11 Highline students from freshman through senior year of high school. You can view this compelling film and a Q & A panel with the students featured in it online.
The Highline School Board and Superintendent Susan Enfield are sending a clear and strong message of protection and reassurance to all students and families in the district. Read the letter to families. A similar message was sent to all staff.
We're back! Classrooms are buzzing with excitement as the 2017-18 school year officially kicks off. Our schools are full of students eager to learn and grow. Our teachers and staff are ready to inspire, motivate and educate!
