The district's summer program of instructional offerings shall be for the purposes of accelerating student learning, taking courses required for graduation and enrichment. Fees shall be charged to cover costs for which revenues are not otherwise provided. To the extent that the district can absorb the cost, fees may be waived or reduced for students whose families would have difficulty paying the full fee. The USDA Child Nutrition Program guidelines shall be used to determine qualifications for waivers or reductions. Priority in fee waivers and reductions shall be given to program offerings and courses that accelerate the learning of students who have yet to meet standard. Parents shall be informed of the availability of any fee waivers or reductions in the notice of the summer school program.
