Beginning with the school year 1968-69, any person who has had military experience and whose college program or teaching career was interrupted by duty with the Armed Forces will be given a military service allowance of $130 for each year of duty. A minimum of ten (10) months of service will be required for one (1) year's credit. Allowance for military service will not exceed three (3) years, nor will it extend the salary schedule beyond the regular maximum.
To receive credit for military service, a person must be continually involved in training, military service and/or teaching. A person must go directly from training in an educational institution into the service and directly from the service into college or a teaching assignment. The college training must have been continuous with the exception of the military service interruption.
