The district shall observe the following school holidays and shall not operate on these days:

• Sunday,
• New Year’s Day (January 1),
• Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (third Monday in January),
• President’s Day (third Monday in February),
• Memorial Day (last Monday in May),
• Juneteenth (June 19),
• Independence Day (July 4),
• Labor Day (first Monday in September),
• Veteran’s Day (November 11),
• Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November),
• The day after Thanksgiving, and
• Christmas Day (December 25).

Whenever any legal holiday, other than a Sunday, falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be a legal holiday, and whenever any legal holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be a legal holiday.

In addition to the above, the following shall also be considered to be holidays: the day before Christmas, the day after Christmas and the day before New Year’s Day (December 24, December 26 and December 31). The superintendent may also designate additional holidays.
