The district shall observe the following school holidays and shall not operate on these days:
- Sunday,
- New Year’s Day (January 1),
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (third Monday in January),
- President’s Day (third Monday in February),
- Memorial Day (last Monday in May),
- Juneteenth (June 19),
- Independence Day (July 4),
- Labor Day (first Monday in September),
- Veteran’s Day (November 11),
- Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November),
- The day after Thanksgiving, and
- Christmas Day (December 25).
Whenever any legal holiday, other than a Sunday, falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be a legal holiday, and whenever any legal holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be a legal holiday.
In addition to the above, the following shall also be considered to be holidays: the day before Christmas, the day after Christmas and the day before New Year’s Day (December 24, December 26 and December 31). The superintendent may also designate additional holidays.
