Employment of all certificated and classified staff must be approved by the board. Each employee shall be paid according to the appropriate bargaining agreement or employee contract as approved by the board. Deductions will be made from employees’ gross pay for statutory taxes and benefits. Voluntary payroll deductions shall be authorized by the superintendent or designee.
The superintendent, or designee, shall be responsible for the payroll operations of the district and shall establish procedures to authorize and control the personnel/payroll operation of the district.
The district shall maintain a separation of duties between personnel, payroll and data processing departments for internal control in accordance with the recommendations from the state auditor's office.
