Every day in class adds up to success.
Absences add up! Our goal is to have students miss five days or less of school every school year.
Why Showing Up Matters:
- Regular attendance helps children feel connected to their school and peers and boosts their confidence and interest in school.
- Studies link good attendance with better academic results. Missing just two days a month can set a student back and make school harder for students.
- Going to school every day helps students learn skills like how to work as a team, think creatively, and talk with others. This prepares them for learning after high school and future jobs.
Students can suffer academically if they miss 10% of the school year, or about 18 days. That's just one day every two weeks. On average it takes three days to catch up for each day missed.
