This year, some middle and high schools are using standards-based grading. Standards-based grading measures learning of specific content and skills. Rather than focusing on points for individual assignments, standards-based grading shows a student’s progress toward specific learning standards. Students have multiple ways and opportunities to demonstrate their learning in a content area.
