Annual Report

You are invited to track our graduation rates and progress on other goals using our interactive annual report. This year's report documents our progress towards our strategic goals for the 2022-23 school year, the final year of the strategic plan initially adopted in 2013 and updated in 2018.

Our strategic plan is grounded in our Highline Promise: every student is know by name, strength and need and graduates prepare for the future they choose. Our Promise guides our work as a school system and serves as our equity plan. To ensure we are serving all students equitably, the data in this report can be disaggregated by student group. This allows us to identify gaps, and more importantly, develop strategies to close them.

The report gives users an opportunity to view results by strategic goal, school, and year, as well as student group. Scroll over numbers and graphs to read pop-ups with more information.

We hope that you will take time to explore this report and then share with us your questions and ideas for how we can continue to better serve our students and families and support our staff.

Strategic Plan

Last summer, the Highline School Board unanimously approved four goals to anchor Highline’s new strategic plan. The new plan is guiding our work for the next three years. Below are the four goals adopted by the board.

Culture of Belonging

A culture where all are welcome, valued, and safe.

Innovative Learning

Academic experiences that engage, empower, and challenge every student.

Bilingual & Biliterate

Multicultural skills that enable students to live, work, and communicate across cultures.

Future Ready

Students explore possibilities and develop mindsets that prepare them for a changing future.

The goals were developed after feedback sessions and focus groups conducted last year with students, their families, our staff and community members. This school year, we are developing measures to monitor progress toward the new goals. Our next annual report will show progress made on those new goals.
