🌟 Last Day of School Reminders
The last day of school is June 25 for grades K-11, June 24 for preschool, and June 17 for high school seniors. Seniors should check in with their counselor for check-out information.
🔔FYI: June 20 is an Early Release Friday
Please follow your school’s regular Early Release Friday dismissal times on June 20, which is now a school day on our calendar.
✅ One Month to Go — Check in on Grades and Progress
We are entering the final stretch of the school year. Now is a great time to work together with your student to check their grades via ParentVUE and review their class syllabi. Look for any missing assignments, upcoming projects, or end-of-year assessments. If you have questions or need support, don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s teacher. Attendance matters. Let’s finish the year strong — together.
🚘PSSC Car Show & Carnival is Saturday
Join us for the Puget Sound Skills Center's 3rd Annual Car Show & Carnival, proudly sponsored by the Highline Schools Foundation. This exciting event is Saturday, June 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The car show and carnival will showcase an impressive lineup of student and professional cars, along with a day of fun for the whole family. Play games, listen to live music, and enjoy food prepared by PSSC’s own culinary program.
💊 Medication Pickup for Students
If your student has medication stored in the nursing clinic at their school, arrangements need to be made for the medication to be picked up or sent home with the student (no controlled substances) on the last day of school, June 25. If your student is attending summer school, their medication will be distributed to their school site. If you do not make arrangements with your school nurse and medications are not picked up, they will be disposed of per district policy.
🏆 Register Now for Sports Next Year
Make sure your students are ready to play! To join a team, students need to be registered and cleared before the first day of practice. Many sports hold tryouts right away — so don’t wait. Registration is through FinalForms, our online system for athletic paperwork, including physicals. Learn about middle school and high school sports seasons and how to register.
📅 School Board Meeting Schedule
You are welcome to join the Highline School Board and superintendent at a school board meeting. All school board meetings are held at the Central Office, 15675 Ambaum Boulevard SW in Burien, typically every other Wednesday, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The next regular board meeting will be held on June 18. All regular board business meetings, work sessions and public hearings are public, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
🍏 What’s Cooking Next Week for School Meals
Next week, we look forward to Maple Waffles on the elementary breakfast menu. On Thursday, we will serve Homemade Chicken Chili with Fritos. School meals are available to all students at no cost this school year. Check out school menus online every Friday (that’s today!) for the following week.
