Highline Headlines - May 2

Highline Headlines - May 2

Today’s Highline Headlines include information about childhood immunization clinics, ways to give feedback on music curriculum and your child’s school, and insurance information for COVID testing.

Immunization Clinics in May

Is your child up-to-date on their childhood immunizations? We are hosting two immunization clinics for students on May 15 and 21. Walk-ups are welcome, but you may also register online. If you have any questions regarding any immunizations your student may need, please reach out to your school nurse or healthcare provider.

Give Feedback on Music Curriculum

We are adopting new curriculum for music—and we want your input! We invite families to a community review of the curriculum under consideration for adoption for elementary music in grades K-5. We have two feedback opportunities on May 10 on Zoom and May 12 in person.  Your feedback will inform the committee’s recommendation to the school board this spring.

Insurance for COVID Testing

Beginning Wednesday, May 4, our Highline COVID Test Sites will begin requiring patient insurance information. All testing will still be free of charge. If you do not have insurance or do not wish to share your insurance information, you can attest to having no insurance and move forward with a PCR test. If you do not provide your insurance information or do not attest to not having insurance, you will be offered a rapid antigen test in lieu of a PCR test. For more information, please review this letter from Atlas Labs and HealthCommons.

We Want to Hear From YOU!

We want to provide all families and secondary students opportunities to share feedback, input and ideas on how we can support learning experiences.  Take 5 minutes to let us know what you think by May 6. Don't miss this opportunity to give us your thoughts. This survey has helped us evaluate needs and progress made since the beginning of the pandemic.
