Memorial Day - No School

Monday, May 30 is Memorial Day. All schools will be closed. We look forward to seeing your students on Tuesday, May 31.

Calendar - June Misprint

Our 2021-22 calendar was printed with an error on the dates for the Mondays in June. The error was noticed after the calendars were distributed. Rather than replacing them all, we printed extras with correct dates to hand out as needed. Please contact your school’s office if you need a new calendar for this school year.

Additional Safety Measures

All schools have been directed to keep their front doors locked during the school day, starting Tuesday, May 31. This is standard practice at most schools already. We know this is an inconvenience for visiting parents and families, but it provides an additional layer of safety and security.

In addition, our local police departments have assured us that they have stepped up patrols around our schools.

Give Feedback on Proposed Director District Boundaries

Every 10 years following the U.S. Census, we review the boundaries of our board of director districts to ensure equitable geographic representation. Highline is divided into five geographic districts, each with one board seat. Based on the feedback we’ve gathered so far, a proposed map is being introduced to the School Board at the June 1 Board meeting. The Board anticipates voting on the new boundaries at the June 22 Board meeting. Please submit written feedback on the proposed map through the online form by June 13, or sign up to share a public testimony at the School Board Meeting on June 1. Give feedback or sign up on our Director District Boundary Changes web page.

Robotics Open House

Tekerz Robotics and Skunk Works Robotics are competitive robotics teams based in the Highline area. Both teams are looking for new middle and high school members who want an opportunity to build and utilize their skills in CAD, public speaking, programming, graphic design, statistical analysis, wiring or parts fabrication to compete at the highest levels of high school robotics. Tekerz Robotics will have an Open House on June 2 and Skunk Works will have one on June 11. Fill out the interest form to attend these open houses.
