We are proud to announce that Adina Thea, our director of elementary language learning & PreK-12 arts education, has been awarded a prestigious scholarship award toward her doctorate and superintendent certificate.

The 2024 Howard M. Coble Scholarship for Under-represented Educational Leaders is designed to support talented, under-represented educators in pursuing graduate studies for central office leadership positions. Adina received this award at the 42nd annual Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) Summer Conference.

Adina plans to attend the University of Washington's Learning for Leadership doctoral program. She said she is excited for the opportunity to use this scholarship to attend one of the top-ranked programs in the nation for education leadership.

“I am so thankful for this scholarship supporting me to further develop my leadership skills to uplift students and communities through the power of education.”

Over the next three years, she plans to work towards an educational leadership doctorate and a superintendent certificate. The UW program, recognized among the top ten in the world for graduate education leadership, focuses on district-level educational leadership. Adina will begin her studies with an intensive session in July.
