March 5-11 is National School Social Work Week. We checked in with Janet Ceballos, bilingual social worker who serves students at Hazel Valley Elementary and several of our other elementary schools, to find out what drives her and what she likes about social work.
"I enjoy helping families conquer barriers that make life difficult for our students and their parents," Janet says. "Sometimes reframing a problem creates the ripple that makes a change. That's what I like to do."
"I also love working with younger kids in helping them discover a growth mindset."
We are thankful for our school social workers! Thank you for all you do each day to know our our students and families by name, strength and need, so our students will graduate prepared for the future they choose.
