New year, fresh start. Highline is waiving all student technology fines incurred during the pandemic between February 1, 2020 and August 31, 2023.
Families and students should expect these fees to be removed from their InTouch accounts within the next few weeks.
During the pandemic, we distributed technology devices to students across Highline. To distribute devices quickly, time was limited in setting expectations and training on device care. Waiving fees gives students and families a clean slate while providing more time for digital citizenship education.
Students will learn about device care, digital citizenship and expectations in school this school year.
Starting September 1, 2023, students will receive a technology fine only if there is damage to a device beyond normal wear and tear.
