Project Update: February 2026
The new Pacific Middle School is growing. The site camera shows structural steel expanding the classroom wing on the south side of the construction site nearly to its full length along South 227th Place.
Crews are installing the roofing barrier and framing the exterior walls of the gym. The final concrete slab foundations were poured this month for the administrative and commons areas that will face 24th Avenue South.
Upper-level concrete floors will begin to be poured later this month. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors are beginning to install building systems.
Ninety-six of 146 geothermal wells have been drilled. The 350-feet-deep wells will all be connected in a geothermal loop to a ground-source heat pump and HVAC system for energy-efficient heating and cooling. The wells are being drilled in the upper field at the west end of the building site. A synthetic turf practice field will be installed on the surface.
This 2022 bond-funded project is within budget and on time to open in fall 2027.
