Give Feedback on Draft Director District Boundaries

Give Feedback on Draft Director District Boundaries

Every 10 years following the U.S. Census, we review the boundaries of our board of director districts to ensure equitable geographic representation. Highline is divided into five geographic districts, each with one board seat.

Working with a consulting firm, we have developed three draft maps and are seeking feedback from the community. Your feedback will help develop a final recommended map that will be presented to the School Board for a vote. Review Draft Maps on our director district boundary changes web page.

During a School Board Work Session and Public Hearing on May 18 from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m., we will present the three draft redistricting maps to the community and School Board. The meeting will take place in the Central Office Board Room located at 15675 Ambaum Blvd SW, Burien, WA. The meeting will also be live-streamed on our website.

If you would like to address the School Board at the Public Hearing, please call 206-631-3070 by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. If space is available, individuals may also sign up to speak at the hearing. Speakers are allotted four minutes each to speak.

Individuals may also submit their written feedback on the draft maps through the online form linked below. The form will close on May 23.

Give Feedback

Based on the feedback gathered, a final recommended map will be developed and introduced to the School Board at the June 1 board meeting.

Written feedback on the final recommended map will be gathered until June 13. Community members can also sign up to give public testimony at the June 1 School Board meeting. The School Board anticipates voting on the new boundaries at the June 22 board meeting.
