Hello Team Highline,
This week has been challenging. Closing schools and facing the disruption caused by the cyber incident has tested us all. I know the lack of access to the internet, digital devices and the tools we rely on every day has created challenges for all of us.
Yet in the face of these obstacles, you have done exactly what I encouraged at this year’s Equity Symposium: Don’t wait. Lead. I have seen you lead this week—creatively, resourcefully, and with an unwavering commitment to our students and families. Thank you.
From our Digital Transformation team working tirelessly to restore our systems, to educators rethinking how to engage students without technology, and support staff keeping the district running, you have proven Team Highline is ready to rise to any challenge.
At the heart of this effort is our Highline Promise—to know every student by name, strength and need, and to ensure they graduate prepared for the future they choose. This promise does not stop when things get hard. It is in moments like these that we live that promise by showing students and families that we will always find a way to support them.
As we continue navigating the coming weeks and months, I want to remind you to keep leading. Your innovation, care and dedication are what make the difference for our students and families, and I am deeply grateful for all you have done this week.
Thank you for everything you are doing to keep us moving forward. Together, we will get through this and prioritize what matters the most.
