Dear Highline Families, Staff and Community Members,
We are thrilled to share with our Highline community that the technology levy was approved by voters!
Early returns show the tech levy passing with a decisive 73.8 percent. While the final vote count may be lower than these early returns, it is clear the levy will be approved well above the required 50 percent.
Thank you to all for your continued support of our students, staff and schools.
The tech levy provides the funding to ensure all students—no matter their economic background —have access to the tools they need to learn from home during the pandemic and in the classroom when they return.
The tech levy will support training for our teachers, replace outdated computers, and fund innovative classroom technology. With funding from the tech levy, our students will graduate prepared for tomorrow’s jobs and the future they choose.
I want to thank our students, families, staff and community for coming together to support education in this unprecedented year. I also want to thank the ‘Yes for Highline’ campaign organization and the volunteers who gave their time to ensure every person in our community understood the importance of this funding measure.
By approving the technology levy, our community is investing in our students. We are grateful for your support during this challenging time.
