After pausing their work near the beginning of the pandemic, Integrus Architecture staff resumed meeting with community members, staff and students from Tyee High School in November.
The Tyee design review committee provided input and feedback to the architects as they draft design plans for a new high school building. Two November meetings with the architects were hybrid meetings, with some members in person in the library at Tyee and some on Zoom.
The November 17 meeting of the Tyee design review committee was the final in a series. Present were both co-principals, other school staff, leaders and community members, plus two students. The committee provided feedback to Integrus staff on a preferred building scheme, weighing in on building massing, layout, program locations, some general interior details and siting of the building.
The architects will continue meeting with various district and school departments as they focus in on many details of the design plans. As they get closer to a draft concept, the public will be invited to a community meeting to provide feedback and ask questions.
The design work is funded by the 2016 school bond. A future school bond will be needed to pay for construction. Work now on the design means the project could be shovel-ready.
