Enter the CFAC Lottery

Fill out the online form to include your name in a lottery for approximately six open seats on the Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC). Names will be drawn by high school service area. Our goal is that all geographic and cultural communities are represented on the committee.

Members will meet once a month on a Wednesday, usually from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the district central office, from October to April. The first meeting is Wednesday, October 13, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

What Does CFAC Do?

CFAC is the community-led committee whose members recommended the successful November 2016 school bond. Last June, members also recommended new boundaries, which the school board approved. The boundaries will take effect in fall 2019.

CFAC members also help prioritize construction needs. They look at enrollment forecasts, building condition reports and debt levels, then balance the needs of all the students in the district and make recommendations to the school board. Members will pick up where the committee left off in 2016 and work to finalize a long-range capital facilities plan that will drive future bonds.

Local voters must approve a new school bond to tax themselves to build new schools and pay for major renovation projects.

“We invite families and residents from across the district to work together on a long-term facilities plan. Community leadership is the key to meeting students’ needs with safe and modern learning spaces,” Chief Operations Officer Scott Logan said.

“We appreciate and depend on our parents and community members—who volunteer many hours of service—to lead the way.”
