Aaron David Garcia represents District 1 on the Highline School Board. He was elected in November of 2019.

Born in Guadalajara, Mexico but raised in White Center, Washington, Aaron is a product of  Highline Public Schools. He attended the Evergreen High School Kindergarten program, Shorewood Elementary, Cascade Middle School and Evergreen High School. After graduating from Western Washington University as a first-generation college student, Aaron returned to White Center and has dedicated the last 10 years to serving the community. After graduating from college, Aaron worked for six years as a college and career specialist, providing support to first generation college bound students helping them to achieve their dream of reaching higher education.

Aaron currently works at the White Center Community Development Association (WCCDA). The WCCDA actively works to eradicate racist systems and create positive economic and social change for residents of White Center. In his free time, Aaron is an avid sports fan and can be found rooting for his favorite professional team, the Seattle Seahawks, and volunteering as a coach for Evergreen Wolverine Athletics.

One way Aaron lives his values of anti-racism and inclusion is to begin meetings by acknowledging the ancestral land stewarded since time immemorial by the Salish people of the Duwamish, Cedar, Green, White and Upper Puyallup Rivers: “We honor and give thanks that we are able to collectively engage in this work on your sacred homeland about the future of teaching and caring for our amazing children and youth.”
