College in the High School
About
College in the High School (CHS) programs provide college level courses in high schools. By passing these classes, students are able to earn high school and college credit at the same time.
CHS programs are established through a contract between a high school and a college or university. The high school and college or university define the criteria for student eligibility. Most Highline Public Schools CHS courses are offered in collaboration with the University of Washington.
Earn College Credit
Students who take a College in the High School course can choose to earn college credit for the course. Most colleges charge a fee for the college credit available through a College in the High School course and students may be required to pay this fee in order to earn college credit.
Schools
We offer CHS courses at Evergreen, Highline, Raisbeck Aviation and Tyee high schools. In lieu of College in the High School, Mount Rainier High School offers the International Baccalaureate Programme. Please access your school's course catalogue for more information for course offerings.
