Class of 2020
High School Seniors
There are many questions and concerns about graduation and other requirements for the 2020 senior class. We’re working hard to address all questions and support our seniors.
Visit our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page to read the latest updates and submit your questions.
We are also working closely with our partners: The Office of Public Instruction (OSPI), State Board of Education, colleges, community colleges and universities that provide credit bearing classes for our students.
Be assured that students will not be negatively impacted as a result of events beyond their control. That is our commitment.
We are currently moving forward with planning all of our graduation ceremonies in June. As of now, no dates or times have been changed. Please note, the last attendance day for seniors may extend beyond the graduation ceremony. We will keep seniors and families updated as we learn more information.
Please review graduation requirements for the class of 2020.
We are working on a plan to support seniors to earn credits for classes they are currently enrolled in, as well as any others they need to meet graduation requirements. Students should check their Highline Public Schools email frequently to stay up-to-date on the most current information from their school, teachers and counselors. Also, bookmark this webpage and visit often for updates.
State Assessment/Pathway Requirements
One of the graduation requirements for the class of 2020 includes a state assessment and/or pathway option. Seniors who have not yet met their state assessment and/or pathway option requirement should contact their school counselor to explore their options. Find contact information for counselors on each school’s website.
High School & Beyond Plans
Seniors will need to complete their High School & Beyond Plan. We are working on a plan to support students completing their plans while schools are closed. Bookmark this webpage and visit often for updates.
School counselors are available via email or StudentVUE (Synergy). Find contact information for counselors on each school’s website.
AP/IB Tests and SAT/ACT Exams
We will communicate more information as it becomes available.
Please reach out to your school counselor or college directly.
College in the High School
Your teachers will be working with the colleges to determine what is possible given the current situation. Please reach out to your College in the High School teacher if you have specific questions.
CTE Dual Credit
Staff is working to ensure standards are met during instructional time after school re-opens. This may be updated if the reopening date is beyond April 27. Please reach out to your CTE teachers for the most current information.
