Athletic Achievement Awards

Varsity Letter

Criteria

Meets sport specific criteria communicated in the sports program overview document, set by the varsity head coach.

Award

Letter patch followed by pins indicating consecutive years of earning a varsity letter


Highline Scholar Athlete

Criteria

Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better, played at least two sports in their senior year, served the community as a volunteer and displayed positive leadership, citizenship and sportsmanship traits. Four nominees per school are selected by the school's coaching staff, then interviewed by a scholar-athlete committee representative of scholar athlete alumni, the Highline Schools Foundation, district athletics and the greater Highline community.

Award

Financial scholarships in past years have ranged between $500 and $4,000 and are presented directly to the 16 recipients through the Highline Schools Foundation

Athlete of Distinction

Criteria

Earns seven Varsity letters in Highline Public School athletics.

Award

Cord to be worn at graduation


Academic Athlete

Criteria

Cumulative GPA of 3.750 or higher through the first seven semesters and earn one varsity letter as a senior.

Award

Medal to be worn at graduation
