Paying for College

The Financial aid process this year has been frustrating, to say the least, but colleges are being flexible, and money for college or training is still available. If you haven’t submitted a financial aid application yet, don’t worry—it’s not too late! Apply as soon as you can.

In Washington, there are two primary ways to apply for financial aid:

  • FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid): This is for U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens, covering federal and state aid.
  • WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid): This option is for those unable to file the FAFSA, often due to immigration status or issues with previous federal aid.
