Graduation Rehearsal

There will be no in-person graduation rehearsal this year. To prepare for graduation, please review these video walkthroughs of the Performing Arts Center and Highline Memorial Stadium. They show how you will navigate check-in, bus loading, processional, name reading line up, photos on stage and the recessional.

Safety

Graduates will be required to wear a mask and social distance at all times. You will complete a verbal attestation before loading the shuttle or entering the building.

When you Arrive

  • Arrive 1.5 hours before the ceremony at your school site. 
  • Be sure to have on your cap and gown with tassel and mask. 
  • Look for the gray grown signals to guide you.
  • Complete a name card with the phonetic spelling of your name.
  • Find the student line, where you will complete an attestation and load the bus with your walking partner.
  • You will not be allowed to load the bus or walk at the stadium if you have on heels (high heel or spiked heel); wedges and block heels are acceptable.

Processional / Arriving

  • Exit the bus and begin in line up in pairs. 
  • Enter the gate and maintain 6 feet of distance between the pair in front of you and the person next to you. 
  • Look for gray gowns to direct you to seating. You will walk down the middle aisle and your pair will be instructed to go left or right.
  • Sit in the furthest available seat in that row and remain standing until your entire class is in place and you are instructed to sit down.

This video demonstration shows student in a single file line, please note that students will be lined up in pairs. You will separate from your pair when you enter your row and sit individually.

Receiving Your Diploma

  • After the class is accepted, we will begin the name reading process. 
  • Pay attention to the gray gown at the end of your row. Watch for the gray gown to give the signal for your row to stand. Only one row will stand at a time. 
  • You will then be ushered to the stage, be sure to maintain social distance. 
  • Once on stage, hand your name card to the name reader and proceed to the table on stage and grab a diploma cover. Acknowledge your principal with a smile or wave, no handshakes. 
  • Look for the X on the stage and stand of the X and smile for a photo. The photographer will be just below the stage. You can remove your mask to take a picture.
  • Once your photo is taken, put your mask back on and exit off the other side of the stage and return to your seat.
  • When returning to your seat, go down the far end of your row and walk down the row to your seat. Look for the gray gown to instruct you.

Recessional / Leaving

  • Look for the gray gowns instructions to stand and exit back up the middle row and down the track. 
  • You will still be in bus groups when you exit the stadium. Quickly find and load the same bus.
  • All graduates are required to load the bus back to the school and will reunite with their family at their school site.

Performing Arts Center

Puget Sound High School, WELS, Vital, CHOICE Academy, Community Based Services (CBS), Big Picture, New Start High School, RTP

When you Arrive

  • Arrive at lease 45 minutes before the ceremony.
  • Be sure to have on your cap and gown with tassel and mask. 
  • Once dropped off at the PAC students will line up on the side of the building and stand in a marked area.  
  • Check the weather and plan for inclement weather as needed.

Processional / Arrival 

  • Once processional begins, students in gray gowns will direct you inside the auditorium and down the first side aisle. You will walk down aisle and take a seat on the stage From front to back. RTP and New Start graduates will also seated in auditorium seats.

  • Look for the gray grown signal your row to stand and be dismissed in a single file line out of the building.
  • Once the ceremony is over you will exit all the way outside of the building. 
  • Once you have exited the building  you can find your family to leave.
