New Name for New Start High School
After months of conversations with students, families and staff, we are thrilled to unveil a new name for New Start High School: Innovation Heights Academy.
This name was chosen after careful consideration and collaboration with our community, and we are grateful to all who participated in the process.
Innovation embodies our focus on fostering self-discovery through experiential learning, providing a supportive environment for practicing the habits of life balance, and equipping students with the resources and opportunities to accelerate their progress toward achieving their goals of graduation and beyond.
Heights references the hill on which the school sits and honors the history of the site.
Academy was a top suggestion from our students and reflects our belief that we are a community of learners committed to excellence.
This renaming is paired with the launch of our new instructional program and our move to our new location at the former Southern Heights Elementary site.
Starting in the fall, we will launch a process to create a new logo and mascot for our school. This process will involve students, families, community partners, and staff members, and we look forward to hearing your ideas and feedback.
We will continue to invite your input and feedback as we work to provide an educational experience that meets the needs of all our students.
