Celebrating National School Counseling Week:

Celebrating National School Counseling Week:
Living Our Promise Every Day

This National School Counseling Week, we celebrate and appreciate the dedicated school counselors in Highline who make a lasting impact on our students' lives. Their work is essential to our Highline Promise—ensuring that every student is known by name, strength and need, and graduates prepared for the future they choose.

School counselors foster a culture of belonging, making sure every student feels welcome, valued and safe. They provide academic, social and emotional support. They also help students navigate challenges, build resilience and set goals.

"School counselors make a real difference in students' lives. They support their academic, social/emotional and college and career development," shares Janet Blanford, Director of Secondary Success, College & Career Readiness. "School counselors help students feel confident and prepared for whatever path they choose after high school graduation."

Most importantly, school counselors help students become future-ready by guiding career and college exploration, connecting them with resources, and preparing them for the opportunities ahead. Their dedication ensures every student has the tools and support needed to thrive.

This week, please take a moment to thank your school counselors for the role they play in our schools!
