Construction Update: Evergreen High School

Evergreen’s new school buildings are nearly ready. Interior spaces are polished, cleaned and outfitted with equipment. Furniture is arriving. Boxes wait to be unpacked by teachers. Crews are planting the final shrubs and trees — and paving the last sections of the outdoor courtyards and entryways.

The kitchen passed its health inspection in June. The activities spaces and career and technical education (CTE) classrooms are coming to life. Wood shop equipment is installed. Mirrors are going up in the dance studio. The auditorium wall paneling is nearly complete.

The three-story classroom wing on the north is in the final cleaning phase. The small learning stairs adjacent to the stairway have been sealed, and the architect’s walk-through checklist — called a punch list — is almost done.

Outside, the south courtyard is paved, and the surrounding landscaping is nearly finished. Courtyard gates are being installed, and asphalt work continues at the tennis courts. A new monument sign is taking shape at the east entrance.

Demolition Makes Way for Driveway, Parking & Ball Fields

Over the summer, we’ll see major changes to the old campus. Now that the move is complete, utilities are being disconnected from the old school, and demolition has begun. Building 700 (round building) is down; Building 500 is already half down, to make way for the new main entrance driveway and parking lot. [UPDATE: The demolition of Building 500 was completed by the end of Friday, July 11.]

What’s Next:

  • Evergreen’s new furniture is being delivered to be placed in classrooms and shared spaces.
  • Crews will finish fencing, signage and planting in the west parking lot.
  • A Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) — the green light to begin using the new buildings — is expected in July.
  • The remaining original buildings will be demolished in the coming months and replaced with new synthetic turf fastpitch and baseball fields by August 2026.

On Time, On Budget

The Evergreen High School project, funded by the 2022 voter-approved bond, is on budget and on track to welcome students in September.
