Health & Safety Updates

This week, we are implementing new health and safety measures from the Department of Health. Below is an overview of these changes.

Shorten Quarantine Windows

Starting November 15, we will offer shortened quarantine periods per new Department of Health guidance. Close contacts may return to school after a 7-day quarantine by providing proof of a negative test result.

  • If the test is negative and you have no symptoms, you can return to school after seven days of quarantine.

  • If the test is positive, or if you do not take a COVID test, you must quarantine for 10 days. You can return on day 11 if you have no symptoms.

Tests must be done at a school district or community-based test site. At-home tests and attestations are no longer accepted. You must provide proof of a negative test result: the original, a copy, or a photo of a document from the test provider or lab.

COVID-19 Testing Locations

We offer free COVID-19 tests to students and family members five days a week.  Drop by anytime to the testing sites on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are by appointment only. Use our online form to make an appointment for Tuesday or Thursday.

Universal Consent Form

To make it easier to get a COVID-19 test, we have created one consent form that can be used for the entire school year. We encourage all families to complete the form so you are ready should you decide to test. Complete the consent form.

Multiple Cases in a Class

The Department of Health has new guidelines for when a class must transition to remote learning due to multiple cases in a class.

A class will move to remote learning when:

  • 10% of students, teachers, or staff within a class are COVID-positive (confirmed or probable.) OR

  • There are 3 or more positive or probable COVID cases within 14 days of each other that have a shared district-related exposure.
