The Highline Virtual Academy is launching this fall for students in 6th through 12th grade.
Students who thrive on independent and online learning are good candidates for Highline Virtual Academy. Flexibility and self-pacing are two important components of the academy’s learning model. Students will experience learning aligned with state standards across all middle and high school content areas on an online learning platform.
Student work will be graded by endorsed teaching staff, and families will receive progress reports throughout the academic year. Students who fulfill graduation requirements will earn a diploma from Highline Virtual Academy.
The staff at the academy will provide face-to-face experiences and build relationships with students and families in order to deliver on our promise to know every student by name, strength and need. Students and families can apply for the academy now. If interest exceeds enrollment capacity, students will be selected by lottery. Highline students will be prioritized over students from other districts.
The home office for the academy will be located at the Olympic Site in Des Moines. If you have questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Information sessions will include a 30-minute presentation and 15 minutes of Q&A.
