We have all been wondering how many elementary students would choose to return for in-person learning. The data is in.
We received commitment forms for 93% of our elementary students. (Huge shout out to staff for all your work in reaching out to our families!)
The response was proportional to our district demographics:
- 81% students of color
- 19% white students
Of those responding, 44% of elementary students are choosing hybrid learning. Broken out by student demographics, it looks like this:
Students identifying as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC):
- 56% opting for fully remote
- 44% opting for hybrid
Students identifying as white:
- 55% opting for fully remote
- 45% opting for hybrid
Staff are still working to reach families who did not respond. Students who cannot be reached will be assigned to fully remote instruction.
The response rate and breakdown of hybrid to remote varies by school. Principals will be working with their school data to make class assignments.
