Math is often perceived as challenging or intimidating. Evergreen High School teacher Mohamad Shibly is out to change that narrative.
Mohamad's journey to becoming an educator was driven by a desire to help students overcome their math anxieties and discover the joy of problem-solving.
Born into a family of Highline educators, Mohamad's upbringing laid a strong foundation for his future career. His mom is a retired Gregory Heights Elementary teacher and his father is the lead custodian at Hazel Valley Elementary.
Mohamad's "aha" moment came during high school when he assisted his mom in teaching summer school. As he tutored students, he discovered a passion for helping others understand math and building their confidence. From that point forward, his educational path was clear.
As Mohamad completes his ninth year at Evergreen, he continues to inspire a generation of young mathematicians. Watch how Mohamad guides his students toward a future where math is no longer a hurdle but a tool for success.
